About Us!

Altus church of the Nazarene is located in the heart of Altus, Oklahoma at 700 N. Main. We have been serving our community since 1909. We have two pastors on staff. Pastor Steve Lehew is our lead pastor, and Pastor Brayden Lehew is our children and family pastor. We strive to serve and be in our community in any way we can. Whether that is from our monthly community meal, or to community events we love to serve Altus. Our motto is “Where Friends Become Family.” At Altus Nazarene, you are more than a friend but instead you are family to us. We would love for you to join our family at Altus Nazarene. Everyone is welcome!

Meet Our Team

Pastor Steve Lehew

Lead Pastor

Pastor Steve Lehew and his wife Tammy have been at Altus Nazarene since July 2018, Steve and Tammy have 2 sons. Brayden is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and Kayden is a senior at Altus High School. Steve and Tammy enjoy being a part of the community of Altus. Pastor Steve serves as one of the Fire Chaplains, is the music teacher at Altus Christian Academy, and is a board member for Operation Care. Tammy is a First Grade Teacher at Altus Christian Academy.

Pastor Brayden Lehew has been at Altus Nazarene since June 2022. Brayden graduated with a degree in pastoral ministry from Southern Nazarene University in 2021. He has a dog named Toto who loves coming into the office with him sometimes. Brayden loves working with the kids, teens, and families of Altus Nazarene. Pastor Brayden is also a pharmacy clerk at Rexco Drug and Gifts.

Ways To Serve

We host a drive-thru community meal on the first Saturday of every month! We would love for you to come serve our community with us through this amazing ministry! The meal begins 11 AM and ends when we run out!

On Sunday mornings, we gather for Sunday School at 9:45 AM. We currently offer three different Sunday School classes. If you would like more information on any of these classes, feel free to contact us!

Adult Sunday School Class

Adult Sunday school meets in the prayer room, and is led by Joe and Kris Kelly. It is open to all ages of adults! This class is a great way to fellowship with other adults, and to gain more prayer partners.

Kids Sunday School Class

Kids Sunday School meets in the Waymaker Kid's Worship Center, and is led by Tammy Lehew. It is open to kids in Pre-k to 5th grade! This class is a great way for your children to make more friends, while growing closer to God!

Teens Sunday School Class

Teens Sunday School meets in the Teen Room, and is led by Pastor Brayden Lehew. It is open to Teens 6th grade to 12th grade! This class is a great way for your teens to grow in their faith, and to learn how to live a Godly lifestyle.

Young Adult Sunday School Class

The Young Adult Sunday School meets in the Fellowship Hall, and is led by James & Karie Goswick. It is open to any young adult! This class is a great way go grow closer to Christ while gaining Christlike friends!

Waymaker Children's Ministry is our kid's ministry! Kids Kindergarten through 5th grade can be a part of this ministry! Tammy Lehew is our kids Sunday school teacher, and Pastor Brayden leads our Sunday and Wednesday Kid's services! We would LOVE to have your kids be a part of this ministry!

Ephesians 4:29 Student Ministries is our teen ministry! Teens 6th through 12th grade can be a part of this ministry! Pastor Brayden Lehew is our teen's Sunday school teacher, and April Black leads our Wednesday night activities for teens! She also leads our teen Bible quizzing team. We would LOVE to have your teens be a part of this ministry!
